Liu J. et al. - Near-Infrared Light and Surgical Wound Healing: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Systematic review and meta-analysis of 56 trials (4,920 participants). Near-infrared light improves wound healing (SMD 0.78) and reduces postoperative pain (SMD 0.71), with optimal results observed at wavelengths between 700 and 850 nm over four to ten sessions.

Zanchetta Peron F. et al. - Photobiomodulation and Pain Associated with Local Anesthesia in Children: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Systematic review and meta-analysis of 10 pediatric studies. Photobiomodulation reduces pain at needle insertion compared to placebo (SMD -0.44) and significantly more than a topical anesthetic gel (DM -3.30), with no heterogeneity.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of 13 studies involving 1,377 patients on light-based devices following episiotomy. Infrared light reduces postpartum pain, but low-intensity laser therapy does not improve either pain or wound healing.

Meta-analysis of 14 randomized trials involving elite athletes. Photobiomodulation does not increase maximum voluntary contraction but does increase the number of repetitions and significantly lowers creatine kinase levels, indicating improved recovery.
