Scientific Committee

Photobiomodulation relates to health. When it comes to these topics, the quality of the information is just as important as its clarity. That is why our guides are reviewed by healthcare professionals who practice PBM or are familiar with the literature on the subject. This page lists the doctors who serve on our review committee.
The Committee's Role
A reviewer is not the author of the article. Their role is to verify that the content is accurate, balanced, and consistent with the current state of knowledge: no exaggerated claims, a clear distinction between what is established and what is still under study, and properly worded caveats. When a physician has reviewed and approved an article, their name appears on the relevant page, along with a link to their public profile for traceability. The guides remain educational and do not link to any commercial pages.
Committee members
- Prof. René-Jean Bensadoun, a medical oncologist and radiation oncologist by training, former president of WALT (World Association for Photobiomodulation Therapy), and author of the book *La Photobiomodulation*. View profile
- Dr. Jonathan Tanguy, general practitioner at the Cormelles-le-Royal Health Center, member of the SFPBM. View profile

How does the proofreading process work?
Each doctor reviews the articles in their field. They point out anything that needs to be corrected, clarified, or expanded upon, and then give their approval. Their name is added to a page only after this approval, never before. The phrase “Reviewed and approved by…” and a link to the doctor’s profile are then added to the article, and the page is flagged to search engines as medical content reviewed by an identified professional.
